Back in 2003, the U.S. Department of Education under Clinton published guidelines for public school teachers who were trying to be on the right side of the law when it came to — among other things– kids portraying Jesus in their art work. (Don’t worry. It’s constitutional.)

You wouldn’t think we’d have teachers objecting to kids drawing the American flag, though. But there’s this from Fox News:

The battle over the American flag has reached a middle school art class in California’s Santa Rita School District where a student was told not to draw Old Glory because it was “offensive,” while another student was praised for drawing a picture of President Obama.
